The pump casing is manufactured with TA2 pure titanium, a type of material excellent in anti-corrosion and protection, and widely used in the production of pumps and valves in the chemical industry. Compared with high-strength titanium alloys such as TC4, TA2 alloy features weaker mechanical performances, higher corrosion resistance and lower cost.
The civil chemical industry commonly involves acidic and alkaline substances and therefore requires the pumps and valves to be highly corrosion-resistant. On the other hand, chemical pumps and valves require average mechanical properties and comparatively simple production processes. TA2, with its anti-corrosion property and economical advantage, is thus frequently used in the manufacturing of chemical pumps and valves and adequately meets relevant requirements.
