Precautions for Use Industrial Vacuum Cast Iron Furnace

After the work, the vacuum furnace shall be kept in the vacuum state of 133Pa. When there is dust or unclean inside the equipment, use alcohol or gasoline soaked silk cloth to wipe clean and dry.

When the parts and components of the sealing part are disassembled and assembled, it should be cleaned with aviation gasoline or alcohol. After drying, it should be coated with vacuum grease and then installed.

The outer surface of the equipment should be wiped frequently and kept clean. The same applies to the use of vacuum tempering furnaces. The electrical joint of the electrical control system should be kept clean and fastened. Each fastening joint should be checked before opening the furnace.

The insulation resistance of the furnace should be checked frequently. When the insulation resistance is less than 1000 Ohm, the electric heating element, the resistance of the electrode and the thermal layer should be checked carefully, and the furnace can be opened after troubleshooting.

FAQ

Q: What is the principle of vacuum furnace?

A: A vacuum furnace is a type of furnace in which the product in the furnace is surrounded by a vacuum during processing. The absence of air or other gases prevents oxidation, heat loss from the product through convection, and removes a source of contamination.

Q: What materials are used in vacuum furnace?

A: An extensive range of graphites from fine grain Iso-molded to medium grain extruded grades. 2D and 3D carbon fiber composite structural grades (for plates, walls, channels, nuts and bolts, and more).

Q: What is the pressure on a vacuum furnace?

A: The pressure on a vacuum furnace can vary depending on the material and process being run. Typical partial pressure settings for vacuum heat treatment are in the range of 65 – 200 Pa (500 – 1500 microns).

Q: What is the heat treatment in a vacuum furnace?

A: A vacuum furnace consists of a sealed chamber where the heat treatment process takes place. The chamber is connected to a vacuum system that removes nitrogen and oxygen, preventing oxidation and contamination of the processed material.

Q: What is the partial pressure in a vacuum furnace?

A: Partial pressures are usually introduced at temperatures well above ambient during the heat treating cycle. This procedure ensures the removal from the furnace chamber of any residual impurities (such as entrapped moisture) during the initial pump-down and heat-up sequence.

Q: What type of furnace is used in casting?

A: A crucible furnace is a type of foundry furnace used for melting and casting metals that have a low melting point such as brass, bronze, and aluminum. It is called a "crucible" furnace because the metal is melted in a crucible.

Q: Which is the most economical furnace to melt cast iron in large volume?

A: Cupola is a heavy furnace and has the capability to melt down heavy metals like cast iron. Hence, the Cupola furnace is mostly used to melt cast iron for casting purposes.

Q: What is the difference between furnace and foundry?

A: The majority of foundries specialize in a particular metal and have furnaces dedicated to these metals. For example, an iron foundry (for cast iron) may use a cupola, induction furnace, or EAF, while a steel foundry will use an EAF or induction furnace.
